| DRIVING DIRECTIONS |
From the New Jersey Turnpike, take exit 15W for Route 280 West. Take 280 West to exit 15 for Route 21, McCarter Highway.
Take McCarter Highway south a half mile and turn right at NJPAC onto Center Street. NJPAC is on the right.
From the Garden State Parkway, take exit 145 for Route 280 East. Route 280 is also accessible from Route 80. Take Route 280 east to exit 15 for Route 21, McCarter Highway. At the bottom of the ramp, turn right onto McCarter Highway. Continue south for a half mile and turn right at NJPAC onto Center Street. NJPAC is on the right.
From Route 78 east, take exit 57 and follow signs for Route 21 north, McCarter Highway. Continue on McCarter Highway north approximately two miles and stay to the left. Follow signs for NJPAC and turn left onto Center Street. NJPAC is on the right. |

Parking is available in three secure surface lots and the renovated Military Park garage, all located across the street from or adjacent to NJPAC. Costs range from $14 to $16.

If you’re in the mood for a day outside this park is the place to go. The Branch Brook Park was the first county park to be opened for public use. In 1999, a group of local residents joined together to form the Branch Brook Park Alliance in order to save the park from deterioration. Right across the street from the New Jersey Historical Society is another little piece of history. Military Park was first used as a training place for soldiers in 1667 and then became the town commons in 1869. There are many interesting historic statues in the park, one of the most prominent being The Wars of America Monument, designed by Gutzon Borglum (creator of Mount Rushmore).

Less than half an hour away from Newark, the Montclair Art Museum (MAM) is worth checking out. MAM collects and preserves American and Native American Art. Through the exhibitions, MAM shows the relationship between these two artistic styles.
