The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra (NJSO) is considered one of the premier American orchestras and continues to be a source of New Jersey pride. Unlike any other contemporary orchestra, the NJSO brings great music to every corner of its home state, offering programs for all socio-economic levels and attracting individuals of diverse ages, races, ethnicity and social groups.
Beginning modestly in 1922, the NJSO has grown significantly, now offering more than 100 classical, pops, family and special event concerts enjoyed by more than 225,000 people every year, in seven venues throughout New Jersey. The Orchestra also offers education and outreach programs that enrich the lives of more than 30,000 children and families each year. With ticket sales covering only 30% of annual operating costs, contributions from generous individuals, corporations, foundations and government partners are needed to make the NJSO season possible and fund its growth to reach new heights of excellence! |
