2010–11 CONCERTS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE
Concerts for Young People (CYP) are the core orchestral programs for elementary- and middle-school audiences. Formalized in 1948, the CYP series is annually attended by more than 20,000 New Jersey students and educators. The NJSO performs Concerts for Young People at five venues throughout the state, creating a wonderfully interactive and educational orchestra experience.

| THE HERO’S JOURNEY |
| Heroes come in every shape and size, from grandparents and teachers to athletes, superheroes and community leaders. For centuries, composers have captured the heroic spirit in music; with this concert including Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man, Verdi’s Nabucco Overture, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3, “Eroica,” and John Williams’ Star Wars, we invite you to discover the hero in you! |

| In this original pantomime puppet show, the world of Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition creates a magical forest where a giant and twin tricksters create fun and conflict.
