Violinist Brittany Sklar, a native of Garfield, NJ, plays “with articulate purity and a tone that could glint like the sun on water.” She joins the NJSO in a Slavic-tinged program of rhapsodies and dances by Beethoven, Dvořák and Wieniawski, concluding with Tchaikovsky’s glorious 1812 Overture.

In this original pantomime puppet show, the world of Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition creates a magical forest where a giant and twin tricksters create fun and conflict. Through his friendship with a white rabbit, a young boy enters this tumultuous world and teaches others the power of listening.
